Manager, Manufacturing Operations

The Machining Manager is responsible for operational execution on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost associated with the Nordson ICS Amherst Machine Shop.  The Machining Manager will work on strategic initiatives including capital planning, cost savings and productivity maximization in addition to daily management of the production, engineering and quality teams.      Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: Provide leadership, direction and supervision to the Machining Organization to accomplish safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics.  Responsible for annual planning, budgeting, talent management and execution of operating plan. Responsible for optimization of machining operations and capacity planning/utilization. Work with cross functional team to manage correct material levels to achieve inventory targets. Identify and action cost reduction opportunities that drive sustainable results. Responsible for implementing practices to achieve acceptable inventory accuracy percentages for Machine Shop. Develop and implement a sustainable workforce training program. Drive growth in the Machine Shop through insourcing to make positive impact to P&L Implement and drive continuous improvement using Nordson Business System tools and problem-solving methods. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirement: Education: BS in Engineering discipline or 8-10 years of relevant experience in managing machining operations Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in Machining Operations Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role in Machining or Operations Experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques and tools Demonstrated performance in achieving cost reduction targets Preferred Skills & Abilities Strong personnel delegation, development and coaching skills through previous leadership roles Demonstrated competencies with machining metrology including calibration and measurement processes and GD&T. Knowledgeable of CNC machining and conventional machining and fabrication. Proficient at AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Applications Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level A balanced professional capable of seeing the big picture while managing the details Ability to drive aggressive implementation plans and schedules Knowledge of Machining TPM methodologies Problem solving and ability to handle multiple tasks effectively Previous experience working as a machinist or toolmaker Previous experience working in a union environment SAP or related MRP system experience preferred   REQ14065

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
